At some point
in the past, you gave us certain personal information. This information
included your name, age, address, marital status and social security
number. if you applied for life or long term care insurance, you may
also have given us employment and medical information and access to your
health history, mode of living, hobbies and other personal data. The
only information collected was that needed to underwrite your
application.
We maintain a high level
of confidentiality concerning our insureds. Our staff has been trained
in the handling and protection of personal information. Oversight of
these matters is strict. Our staff understands that improper disclosure
of personal data is serious matter. If we ask as outside company to help
us with our insurance operations, we require it to adhere to the same
standards as we do.
Unless you have given us
your written permission no affiliates or third party non-affiliates have
access to your insurance records other than as necessary to assist us in
administering our insurance operations. We never sell lists of the names
and addresses of our insureds to any vendor of goods or services.
Access to your records
is limited to our employees who are working with your file and employees
of organizations which are under contract with us and which adhere to
our standards. Should we be forced to disclose information in connection
with a civil suit or a criminal investigation, we must comply. Such
instances are however, very rare.
Our policy of protecting
the security of personal data also extends to former insureds who are on
longer covered by us.
